Circulation
Circulation
Many Wakefield Wood Tubs are soaking tubs that let you enjoy the soothing warmth of a constantly heated bath. But circulating pumps keep tub water moving and allows tub owners to keep water cleaner longer with large particle filtration. Tub water can be changed less often if it’s circulated and filtered. Other benefits of circulation are heating efficiency (more water is circulated to the heater more often) and the option of adding water or air jets.
The following are specifications for on-demand and continuous flow pumps; both are available to manage water circulation.
Filtration
Also standard in electrically heated hot tubs with circulation, is a 50 square foot in-line water filter. This is similar to a pool filter, in that it collects debris, sand, and other large dirt particles that are circulated through the system by the pump.
Air and Water Jets
Water jets deliver higher-pressure water to the walls of the hot tub. Air bubbles can be added to the water streams or tubs can have water jets only. Most Wakefield Tubs come with 4 water jets that include the air bubble feature as well. Additional jets can be added to any tub, however attachments are visible on the outside of the tub. Depending on the installation of your tub, jets can be hidden from view on the outside, but design and location are variables that need to be considered when choosing additional jets.
Benefits of Hydrotherapy
The warm water of your Wakefield Wood Tub has numerous documented benefits which can be enhanced with the use of water jets and/or air bubble massage. These include:
Stress Relief – Regular hot tub use, through a combination of buoyancy, heat and massage relieves tension and stress that can cause muscle tension, headaches, fatigue and soreness.
Arthritis Relief – Hot tubs promote muscle relaxation, decreased pain and joint stiffness which leads to greater ease when performing exercise and daily activities.
Better Sleep – Sleep studies showed that soaking in a hot tub prior to bedtime will not only help you fall asleep, but will provide a deeper, more relaxing sleep as the body cools.
Lower Blood Pressure – The heat helps increase blood flow throughout the body. Warming blood causes blood vessels to dilate and blood pressure can be reduced.
Massage – The focused streams of water from a hot tub’s jets provide therapeutic massage, effectively relieving lower back pain and other pain pressure points.
Lower Blood Sugar – Studies have shown that just 30 minutes a day spent in a hot tub or spa can result in a significant drop in blood sugar levels for those with Type 2 diabetes.
Respiratory Relief – The steam from the water can open up nasal and bronchial passages, improving upper respiratory health.
