Here at Wakefield Wood Tubs, we believe that the choice whether to build your own or not should be made available to all who choose it. It’s our belief that with the requisite experience and appropriate space and tools, you can do it!
You can take advantage of our experience, our sourcing of cedar, or stainless banding, and of all other required parts, along with our tips and tricks to successfully build your own cedar hot tub from the comfort of your own home woodworking shop.
Simple, Step-By-Step Guide
We send you all the required materials, include specific tips on what to do, what to avoid, and how to put it all together. You’ll be able to leverage your skills and your tools to build a beautiful, long-lasting cedar hot tub that will give you great satisfaction and thrill when you slip in for the first time. With this combination of materials, components, timely advice, and instruction, it really is possible (and realistic) for any home woodworker to build their own cedar hot tub. And to build it within weeks, not months or years. You’ll be ready to install your creation in its permanent location this Spring.
Small Kit
Kit Includes:
- 5’ diameter (2-3 person capacity) with 4’ staves.
- 350 board feet of clear, knot-free white cedar boards, planed to 1 5/8” in thickness.
- 1 bead and 1 cove router bits, both at 1 1/2″ in diameter.
- 60 linear ft of 1 1/4″ wide stainless steel band with brackets, bolts and nuts.
- Insulated marine-grade vinyl cover, that achieves at least R22 insulation value.
- 2 high-volume suction drains with nuts and elbows.
- 2 high-volume 1 1/2″ directional nozzle jets with nuts and elbows.
- 1 1/2″ flex pipe and PVC spa glue.
- Spa controller (Gecko Y-Series), keypad, 4 kW heater, 2 HP pump (Waterway 2 speed), in-line canister filter (50 sq ft with replaceable filter), water balancing kit, elbows, T-fittings, and everything else needed to get your hot tub running smoothly.
Large Kit
Kit Includes:
- 6’ diameter (4-6 person capacity) with 4’ staves.
- 400 board feet of clear, knot-free white cedar boards, planed to 1 5/8″ thickness.
- 1 bead and 1 cove router bits, both at 1 1/2″ in diameter.
- 80 linear ft of 1 1/4″ wide stainless steel band with brackets, bolts and nuts.
- Insulated marine-grade vinyl cover, that achieves at least R22 insulation value.
- 2 high-volume suction drains with nuts and elbows.
- 4 high-volume 1 1/2″ directional nozzle jets with nuts and elbows.
